Rahman went supernova when his score for Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire reached a worldwide audience, and was rewarded with both a Grammy and an Oscar statuette. Now the singer and composer brings the sound of Bollywood to the new, 2,155-capacity Sands Theatre for a four-night residency – part of a world tour Rahman has co-conceived with creative director Amy Tinkham, who’s best known for collaborating with musicians of a rather different stripe (Britney and Mariah among them).
