About Singapore Brass Explosion! 2011

Following the success of last year’s inaugural international brass music festival, Brass Explosion! 2011 returns for its second year with an even more exciting line-up of internationally-renowned artistes. This year’s Festival is bigger and better.

Spanning four days from 27 to 30 May 2011 with over 250 brass musicians, performers, teachers and students across 15 countries and 25 nationalities, Brass Explosion! 2011 sets to give all brass musicians, students, music lovers and the public a fabulous experience of world-class brass music in its various forms.

Organised by Brass Society Ltd (Singapore), a registered non-profit organisation dedicated to provide Singapore’s brass musicians platforms to learn, teach and perform while building and sustaining excellence in brass musicianship, Singapore Brass Explosion! 2011 aims to provide the means for Singapore’s brass musicians of all age-groups to receive world-class musical education, the opportunities to perform at international events, and foster a life-long passion for brass music.

Festival Director (who is also Associate Principal Trumpet of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra), David Smith said: “By bringing together international and local brass musicians of all ages and levels, this Festival aims to be a platform for them to not only share their love for brass music, but also to engage in diverse cultural experiences that will further inspire them to embark on greater brass music endeavours.
